The Goalie Academy staff team has years and years of playing and coaching experience. All of our Goalie Instructors have played or are currently playing college hockey, thus most have graduated with a degree.

| WHY
WE ARE HERE: The Goalie Academy, Inc. coaches are here for the
sole purpose of making our campers better goalies. By focusing
on the goalies’ development, we in turn make the goalies better,
make the goalies feel better about themselves and provide them with all
important confidence in their abilities, we make their parents happier
and eventually this good will and child development focus comes back
to the Goalie Academy and the individual coaches in positive ways.
The coaches at the Goalie Academy, Inc. are carefully recruited and they all possess the following attributes:
These attributes are explained in greater detail below: Extensive Hockey Playing & Coaching Experience plus Excellent Teaching and Communication Skills All of our coaches are experienced goalie coaches as well as experienced goalies. All are either currently playing collegiate level hockey or have played at the collegiate level. (Some even have professional playing experience). Our coaches have trained under and have coached with some of the biggest names in goalie coaching in North America. Many of our coaches are paid professional coaches as well as head and assistant coaches at top US Colleges, High Schools and Prep Schools. We seek college graduates who wish to give back to the game and who have the education to communicate the skills that they have learned effectively to our campers. The resumes of or coaching staff are quite impressive. Our staff knows kids, relates to them well and they are remarkably patient when teaching them the unique and challenging skills of goaltending. Ability and Willingness to Provide Individual Attention and Positive Feedback Our low goalie to coach ratios at our camps makes it a lot easier for our staff to focus individual attention to our goalies. It also allows our coaches to get to know the strengths and weaknesses extremely well so that they can provide very constructive feedback to the goalie to quicken the development process. Once a goalie knows what they can do better and they know exactly how to get better, they will more rapidly improve. That is what the Goalie Academy Staff can do. They all have superb analytical skills to identify how your goalie can improve and they communicate those goals very effectively. We identify both the strengths and weaknesses of the goalies, which gives the goalies confidence in their current skill strengths and we identify the weaknesses so that they can move forward in the development process. Enjoy Their Work You have to experience watching the fun that is had at the Goalie Academy. Time and time again parents come up to us and say that we really looked like we are enjoying ourselves out on the ice. No question. We love what we do and the enthusiasm for being a part of the great game of hockey exudes from our staff members and translates loud and clear to the kids at the camp. Our enthusiasm is contagious and it energizes the entire camp! We have a ton of fun and we know where the work/fun line is drawn. Our camps are a blast for everyone involved! |
